Military Families with Transgender or Nonbinary Kids: Tell Us Your Story!

Serving military families means serving all military families. Lawmakers may include a rider in the FY25 NDAA that would ban Tricare from covering any gender-affirming care for children under the age of 18. Such a ban would be emotionally devastating to trans youth and would present financial hardships for military families who would have to pay out-of-pocket for this vital and effective healthcare.

Whether you are a Veteran or retiree with a transgender child, or your child is now an adult, but benefitted from Tricare-covered gender-affirming care, we want to hear your story! Please share how the loss of gender-affirming Tricare coverage would impact your child, your family, and your career in the armed forces.

You can choose to share your story anonymously with lawmakers and other LGBTQ+-allied organizations. You can also opt in to share your story publically; if you choose this option, we may contact you to share your story personally in front of lawmakers
